The Alterhaven Fair Play Charter

Every game with the Alterhaven mark puts the player first. We build and publish games for the joy of play, not to trap your attention or your wallet.

When you open an Alterhaven game, you know what you get. This charter states our promise to every player and every creator.

What Players Can Count On

  1. No ads ever. Alterhaven games never show banner ads, video ads, pop-ups, or ad trackers. You never watch an ad to continue a game or to get a reward.
  2. No paid random rewards. Alterhaven games have no loot boxes, gacha pulls, mystery boxes, or paid prize wheels. You always see the exact item before you buy it.
  3. No premium currency. Creators never sell gems, crystals, diamonds, or coins for real money. Games never hide the real cost of an item behind fake tokens.
  4. No paid energy or wait timers. Games never stop your play with an energy bar that asks for money. You never pay money to skip a wait timer.
  5. No pressure offers. Games never use fake countdown clocks, "only today" deals, or "last chance" pop-ups. An honest game lets you decide at your own pace.
  6. Clear prices in real money. Every price shows the real currency amount before you pay. There are no hidden fees and no surprise renewals.
  7. Built-in spending caps. Every published game has a clear maximum spend per player. Even optional tips and expansions stop at a hard account cap.
  8. Kid-safe rules. Games marked for kids collect no personal data and show no public chat. Kid-safe games keep purchase buttons behind a parent check.
  9. Saves you keep. Your game progress belongs to you. You can play, save, and export your save data through the platform at any time.

Allowed Payment Models

All test games in the Alterhaven Arcade are free (none). Arcade test games cannot charge money.

Published games can use only these clear payment models through the Alterhaven SDK:

  • Free (none): The full game is free for everyone.
  • One-Price Game (premium): You pay one clear price once and own the full game.
  • Free to Try, One Unlock (free_to_try_unlock): You play the opening loop for free, then pay once to unlock the full game.
  • Content Expansion (expansion): You buy a named pack of new levels, chapters, or modes at a fixed price.
  • Direct Cosmetic (cosmetic): You buy a specific visual look at a fixed price, with no randomness and no gameplay advantage.
  • Creator Tip (tip): You send an optional, fixed-amount tip to thank the creator, with no gameplay lock.

How We Enforce the Standard

We do not rely on honor alone. We enforce the Fair Play Standard at three levels on every version of every game:

  1. Automated code scan. Our static scanner checks every file, data URI, and encoded string before a version goes live. It blocks ad domains, ad SDKs, external network calls, direct payment scripts, loot boxes, premium currencies, and energy refills.
  2. Runtime lock. Every game runs inside a locked browser sandbox on a separate play origin. A strict Content Security Policy blocks all connections to outside servers, ad networks, and trackers.
  3. Human review. Before any game receives the Alterhaven Fair Play mark or enables payments in Publishing, a human reviewer plays every scene. The reviewer checks the game against this charter.

If a game breaks this charter, we block the build and remove the mark. Clean games respect the player.

Player Feedback

Every game on Alterhaven: tap with three fingers to tell the team what you think. Games do not use the three-finger tap for anything else.

Shared score boards

A studio can keep one shared score board for all versions of its game. Alterhaven passes those requests for the game, so the game never connects to another site. Alterhaven sends only what the player submits, never their address or account.
